Rio Rancho Marine Corps JROTC was commissioned by the Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Mr. John Danzig, on 1 June 2000.  As such, this Program is a fully accredited 4 year practical arts elective course that provides 175 hours of course instruction each school year.

Our Mission

 

- To develop humble and effective leaders who recognize and apply the core values of honor, courage, and commitment.

- To educate young adults in the importance of character, responsibility, planning, and community service.

- To develop a fundamental understanding of military skills.

Leadership

 

Leadership training is the most important aspect of MC JROTC. Although other courses offer leadership training, this course focuses on the principles, traits, characteristics, techniques, and styles of leadership.  Classes emphasize methods used to develop discipline and motivation in subordinates.

Successful leaders are typically individuals who as students learned from experience. Opportunities to practice leadership techniques are given to cadets by assigning billets of responsibilities within the Program.

Competition Teams

 

For students who are highly motivated, our Competition Teams provide ample opportunities to refine military skills and compete in an interscholastic environment.

​

Cadets are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA with no Fs in order to compete.  Practice takes place between 6:00 and 7:00 am during the school year.
